What beer, big Mac’s & blue shampoo have in common

By Dani Walker

What do beer, the special sauce on a McDonald’s Big Mac, and blue colored shampoos such Revlon Aquamarine have in common?

The EDTA Molecule

I used to think that reading labels was sufficient until a friend told me that my lotion, which said 99.9% Natural, contained propylene glycol: the main ingredient in brake fluid and anti-freeze!  Then I found myself wondering what other ingredients in my personal care products were toxic.

After researching every ingredient in my EXPENSIVE salon brand shampoo, I realized that over 13 ingredients (sulfates, EDTA, Dioxins, parabens, etc.) caused neurological toxicity, endocrine disruption, cancer, reproductive problems & more.  I also found out that it contained the exact same ingredients as the much less expensive store brands & Europe, Canada and several other countries have banned many of the common place ingredients U.S. personal care manufacturers use.  What the heck is going on with the personal care industry & why isn’t the FDA regulating it?

Well, there are 1000’s of ingredients used in personal care products and  in 1967 the FDA had far to many to test so they automatically grand- fathered in all the ingredients used up to that date & again in 1982 they still did not have time to test them so they grandfathered in even more.

We as American consumers must be our own advocates.  Find a company that has a 100% toxin free guarantee.  One with a mission to promote health & make a positive impact on our fragile environment.  Make sure the company also uses BPA free plastic bottles. As you well know, my family uses & promotes SISEL International personal care products.

As a consumer, every dollar we spend has a voice & the large corporations are “paying” attention to who we give our money to.  Maybe we should “pay” just as much attention ~ knowledge is power.  Listen to the entire podcast click here
