Bye bye to BPA – Bisphenol A

Bisphenol A – BPA found in 56% of canned foods, plastics, baby bottles, water bottles & more.

BPA is an abbreviation for bisphenol A, a chemical that is found commonly in many polycarbonates and other plastics used in packaging food and personal care items, including the plastic linings that are sprayed into aluminum food cans. Trace amounts of BPA often leach into these products and whether ingested or absorbed through the skin, this chemical acts as an endocrine disruptor that numerous studies have determined poses a health risk. Much of this research has linked bisphenol A to adverse effects including heart disease, thyroid function, brain function, cancer, and more.

While the FDA has been OK with BPA for years, we have not.  We have strongly advocated how potentially dangerous it is. Now, with a growing mountain of evidence, the FDA is finally re-considering its position.

In the meantime how many millions of boys and girls, men and women, have had this stealthy chemical absorbing into their bodies, perhaps affecting their brains, organs and tissue. Insidiously it may even have been attacking our masculine and feminine gender development and functionality- that god-given biology which makes us what we are and has so much to do with what we will do with our lives.

Since it has taken decades for the FDA to adjust its position from “no concern” to “some concern”, I wonder how long it will take for them to fully acknowledge what so many scientists have known and advocated should be done about BPA for so long.

Whatever the FDA’s seemingly never-ending evaluation period will be; we will still continue letting people know about BPA and all the other potentially harmful ingredients so prolific in our environment today. For the government this is a big step forward. But for those of us who understand the dangers, and for all those suffering from BPA exposure, it is a baby step in what should have been a race to preserve our awareness and safety.

I’m glad and proud to say that SISEL is way ahead of our time and will continue to accelerate going where few if any have gone before in the world of health. Whenever you see the SISEL Safe Seal, you have our promise that only the purest, most effective ingredients are used in that product and that there are absolutely no potentially harmful ingredients present, even in our BPA free packaging.

We are committed to improving the health of as many people as possible, and will continue to take a stand against all the subtle health hazards that surround us.

I, Dani,  just wanted to share this information because I think it is important for ALL of us to know that even though the products we use may be toxin free & organic the packaging may not.  A great example of this is organic canned foods, drinks & personal care products.

Making BPA free packaging is much more costly, therefore many manufacturers never do it & the BPA free plastic is less pliable so people tend to complain.  I think it is well worth all of us knowing that foods, supplements & toothpaste are not filled with this toxin!
