Find Phthalates Free Cosmetics Products

Thank goodness some companies have the same health concerns as we consumers!  I finally found a company making phthalates free cosmetics and personal care products that actually work and work WELL!  I really do love 100% Pure!

Phthalates (pronounced “thah-lates”) are chemical plasticizers that have been widely used since the 1950s to soften plastics that would otherwise be brittle and crack when bent. Because phthalates are not chemically bound to the plastics they’re added to, they’re continuously released into the air or food or liquid.

Finding 100% Phthalates free cosmetics products in today’s personal care industry is difficult at best.  The shampoo, cosmetics, lotions, foods, toothpaste etc may actually be phthalate free but the plastic packaging could contain phthalates that are leaching into the product itself, not to mention several other harmful toxins.

In personal care items, they’re used to help lubricate other substances, help lotions penetrate and soften the skin, and help fragrances last longer.

Here’s a list of the most common phthalates, which may come in handy for checking labels to see if what you are using is in deed Phthalates Free.

phthalate free products• DBP (dibutyl phthalate)
• DNOP (di-n-octyl phthalate)
• DiNP (diisononyl phthalate)
• DEP (diethyl phthalate)
• BBzP (benzyl butyl phthalate)
• DEHP (di 2-ethylhexl phthalate)
• DiDP (diisodecyl phthalate)
• DnHP (di-n-hexyl phthalate)
• DMP (dimethyl phthalate)
• DnOP (di-n-octylphthalate)
• Bisphenol A (BPA) is another plasticizer.

Some of these products include nail polish, perfumes, lotions, air fresheners, soaps, cosmetics and hair care products. The health concerns for this chemical are vast. Perhaps the largest concern is the effect that even “normal” exposure to phthalates can have on unborn and young children.

phthalate free cosmeticsStudies have shown that phthalate exposure in mothers of unborn males can result in a blockage of male hormones during gestation. This can lead to reproductive abnormalities in infant boys and ultimately to adult infertility. The connection to phthalates was identified when mothers of baby boys with reproductive abnormalities tested with high levels of phthalates in their blood.

Women of child bearing age actually have tested the highest for phthalate concentration in adult male and female studies. This suggests a connection to frequent use of body care and cosmetic products containing phthalates.

As my awareness of the toxins in our personal care products grows, so does my rage for corporations that still make this crap!

It seems that the FDA does not think phthalates pose enough health risk to be outlawed even though Europe and several other countries banned the use of these toxins.  But why wait for the government to “act” when it is up to us to take back our health by using phthalates free products.

If you are searching for 100% phthalates free cosmetics products 100% Pure manufactures excellent toxin free hair, dental, cosmetics and skin care lines.  Their sun screen is a must!!!!

After searching for 100% toxin free products in BPA free packaging, 100% Pure is the only company I could find manufacturing to these standards with 3rd party testing to confirm they are in deed phthalate free products and safe for our families.
